Hug Your Mommy and/or Babies Today!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I decided to dig up some pictures of my mom when she was young…
(the little girl on her lap is Aunt S)

Uncle M, Aunt S, Aunt G, Grandma, Mommy, and Grandpa in 1966

As a teenager… (that’s my dad)

Then she had ME! (notice the red handbag: addictions start young!)

This year is special because not only do I get to celebrate my own beautiful, strong, and talented mother… but it’s also my very first Mother’s Day as a mommy myself.  I’ve waited my whole life for this!  My mom has set the bar high, as far as mothers go.  I can only hope to be as loving and dedicated to Ryan as she has been to me.  She's such a giving and selfless person that I want to model my life after her.  Don’t forget to celebrate your own mothers today… treasure them while they are here!  Mommies are so special and unique, and remember, she’s the only one you got!

  1. Happy mother's day to a beautiful new mom and to her wonderful mother too! <3

  2. PS you and your mom look so alike in these photos. I love it!

  3. Aww, I love these pictures! My mom's hair was long and straight and dark when she was young, just like your mom's! I love the pictures of you two when you were little:). Happy Mother's Day to you both!

  4. Hi Dana! Happy belated Mother's Day!

Your comment on my blog was wonderful, I'm so glad you left it and directed me to your blog :) Ryan is adorable, and the picture of you & your husband in the water at the top of the page is gorgeous! I can't even remember what life was like with an 8 month old :(

I can already tell you do an amazing job with your blog! I can't believe that I could possibly be inspirational to you, after all you've gone through and dealt with so far. My husband's mom died of uterine cancer when he was little. I'm soo happy that you've finished chemo!! I can't even imagine what a scare it's been for your family, what a great strength you have for having come through it!!
